The Seattle Seahawks and coach Pete Carroll recently agreed on a deal that will keep him with the team for at least three more seasons. Carroll’s contract was set to expire after the 2016 season, but owner Paul Allen recently announced that the team had signed Carroll to a long-term extension. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the new contract will run through the 2019 season.
Recently resigned general manager John Schneider brought in Carroll before the 2010 season, a move that has paid dividends. Of the eight coaches in the history of the Seahawks franchise, Carroll has been the most successful, leading the team to five playoff berths in six seasons, three NFC West division titles, two Super Bowl appearances, and one championship.
